Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)
I will just go ahead and add details about our trip to Labor & Delivery yesterday. Well lately Jocelyn has been very active. I feel her throughout the day and she is feisty! She likes my right ribs alot. Well on Friday and Saturday I noticed that she was really quiet. Not moving as much as she normally does. So I called the doctor on Sunday morning and he told me to come in so I can get an ultrasound.
We get to the BRAND NEW labor & delivery floor at the hospital (fantastic by the way!) and we check in. They put us in a room and hook me up to the fetal monitors. We get to hear her heartbeat for the next few hours (true.love.) and track her movements. The nurse said that I had a few contractions but nothing to be alarmed about. I didn't even feel them.
So at around 4:30 (4 hours after we get there) we go down for the ultrasound. Everything looks great! According to the ultrasound and her measurements she is weighing in at 4 lbs 2 oz. Big girl! John asked the ultrasound technician if her due date was still accurate and she said that according to her measurements and the dates of my last period that her due date would be February 2! Now... this was our original due date but it was changed to February 14 after seeing the baby at the first ultrasound. So I will be asking my OB at my next appointment on Wednesday about this. I think we will just be ready around Feb 2 just to be on the safe side.
So after 7 hours in the hospital it turns out that Baby Girl was just sleepy and everything looks great! I was glad that we went in because I needed to make sure she was ok. I NEEDED it. And we got pre-registered already so when we arrive in February we just have to say "we're here!" (sort of).
So that's it! :)

i just wanted to comment to comment, we already talked about this, so I wont repeat myself. I can't wait to meet your little girl! love ya!
So glad everything was okay. I just found out this morning that they opened up the new L&D at Memorial City. Am so excited that we get to be in a new place!!! Oh, and just so you know, I found out that they won't let any kids until the age of 18 visit, unless it is a sibling of the baby. Just thought I would pass that on, so you can be prepared. I was a little bummed!
